SBA-Certified SDVOSB
We're officially certified as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business by the U.S. government. This means agencies can hire us directly through special programs designed for veteran-owned companies.
For over 20 years, Bethlehem Family Services has provided mental health care and workplace support programs. Whether you're an individual looking for a therapist, a family going through a hard time, or a government agency that needs a trusted mental health partner — we were built for you. We're veteran-owned, fully licensed, and ready to help.
Our Story
Bethlehem Family Services was founded on a single, defining conviction: the same discipline, resilience, and commitment that shapes military service can — and should — shape the delivery of behavioral healthcare.
Our founder brought more than 20 years of military, federal, and national crisis response leadership into the clinical space. He had seen firsthand what happens when behavioral health support is unavailable, under-resourced, or disconnected from the operational realities of those who need it most — service members, federal employees, first responders, and families holding everything together under extraordinary pressure.
So we built something different.
We built a practice that carries a federal contractor's operational precision alongside a clinician's empathy. We built programs that meet regulatory and compliance standards without sacrificing the human care at their center. And we built a team capable of serving a veteran in individual therapy on Monday and fulfilling a federal critical incident response contract on Tuesday — with the same standard of excellence in both rooms.
That is our mission. Not two missions. One.

Leadership

Founder & Executive Director
Ph.D., Curriculum & Instruction | Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT — FL, MI, CO) | Master Addiction Counselor | DOT SAP | Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt | SBA-Certified SDVOSB Principal
Dr. Jomo Z.M. Thomas is a behavioral health executive, licensed clinician, and the founder of Bethlehem Family Services. Holding a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction, active LMFT licensure across three states, and a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Dr. Thomas brings a rare combination of clinical depth, operational discipline, and federal-system experience that shapes every program BFS delivers.
Over more than two decades, Dr. Thomas has led behavioral health operations at every level of complexity — from managing military family support programs through Magellan Health Services across Colorado and Wyoming, to supervising USPS Employee Assistance Program operations across the Western region, to directing high-volume clinical operations at national crisis intervention contact centers. Most recently, he served as Clinical Director at H2H Contact Center in New York, overseeing 15,000+ patient interactions annually with 98% clinical compliance. He currently serves as Adjunct Professor at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida.
As a service-disabled veteran, Dr. Thomas built Bethlehem Family Services to fill a gap he lived firsthand: the absence of behavioral health organizations equipped to serve both the individual in a therapy office and the federal agency requiring a compliant, deployable program — at the same standard of excellence.
